One of our favourite days out, Briarlands is a family-run farm providing a petting zoo, berry picking, go-karting, a field maze & other activities.

There is a tearoom where they offer freshly prepared food from local suppliers as well as their own produce, including strawberry jam and fresh strawberries. We often buy a punnet and take them on our outdoor adventure. So much rigorous activity demands sustenance.

Things to keep you entertained at Briarlands.

We like to do pretty much everything – in no particular order.

There are two jumping pillows – so that very little kids aren’t bounced sky high.

The tractor go karts use pedal power and determined racers will leave with wobbly legs. There is a toddler trike track that satisfies their need for speed.

You can have a farmyard experience by feeding animals though feeding tubes. There are rabbits and guinea pigs to pet, and sometimes lambs. Chickens cluck about and the rooster makes his presence felt. Highland cattle and pigs complete the experience. A tractor trailer ride takes you into the working farm and is a super way to end the day.

There are an assortment of climbing frames, a flying fox zip wire, sand pits and a football wall for goal scoring prowess.

Line up in a group of four and test your archery skills. Feel like a modern day Robin Hood.

Our current favourite thing to do is football golf. If you think this is just for kids you’d be mistaken. We saw a group of dads weaving their way through the course and having a grand time.

King of fruits.

Wait. Did I forget to mention strawberry picking? On a balmy summer day, you can pick these sweet treats to the gentle drone of bees and wasps, too drunk on sugar to pay you any mind.

You’ll get here by driving past the safari park. Don’t be tempted to do both in the same day. It is too much.
